What Can USHER Do to Make Us Love Him Again?
Next month, the 23rd as a matter of fact, marks the six-year anniversary of the release of Usher’s diamond selling album Confessions. Times have surely changed.
After the lackluster sales of his 2008 project Here I Stand, fans displayed dissatisfaction with the music and his life choices.
Fans have fallen out of love with Usher. Maybe the public (or rumored) displays of disrespect toward his mother and an unsupported marriage gone sour, have a lot to do with his decline. Then again maybe they don’t. But one thing is for sure fans are tired of publicity stunts (see 50 Cent sales), fake relationships (is Usher really back with Chili?), PR nightmares (child molestation or domestic violence cases) and average music. To be honest all can be forgiven if Usher gives us GOOD music with his new project.
The bottom line remains, now more than ever, give us (fans) what we want and we’ll give you what you want. Fans will give you radio spins, download your tracks and even buy tickets to your shows. We may not like ‘you’ but we’ll support your music.
So the answer to Usher and all artists seeking redemption or to continue to their career, it’s simple…put out GOOD, TIMELESS music.
